▶ Title: Development of High Temperature Superconductor Wavelength Shifter Magnet for Accelerator-based Light Source
▶ Abstract: When you imagine superconductors, the image of magnetic levitation may first come to mind. However, practical engineering use of superconductors may be different from your imagination. In reality, the construction of a structurally robust electric system in a cryogenic environment is what superconductor magnet engineers do. Low resistivity (ideally zero) of superconductor enables high-performance or energy-efficient electric machines in diverse applications such as biomedical (e.g. MRI, NMR), electric (e.g. power cable, generator), energy (e.g. fusion), transportation (e.g. UAM, hyperloop), scientific applications (e.g. dark matter detector, particle accelerator). In this particular talk, superconductor magnets used for particle accelerators will be introduced.
