▶ Title: KSTAR and ITER Construction

▶ Abstract:

The Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR) machine has been constructed in June 2008 and operated for 15 years stably. It has been being benchmarked for construction of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project  that is more complex from technical and managerial point view.

In the presentation, what were the most important success factors of the KSTAR project and what are the key features of the ITER project to understand technical and managerial points of view will be introduced. Also, main differences of these two projects will be presented with contents of summary of the KSTAR construction and current progress of the ITER project.

Based on knowledges and experiences from these two projects, what are possible next steps of the development of fusion energy will be introduced to the next generation of scientists and engineers.
